Robert C. Fox, M.D. Ophthalmologist

To become an ophthalmologist (a surgical eye care doctor and eye surgery specialist), Doctor Fox completed four years of premedical courses in university where he graduated with distinction on the Gladys York scholarship for academic achievement. This was followed by four years of advanced medical school at the University of Colorado where Dr. Fox earned the Scholarship for Merit Award and was elected the Medical School Class President. After graduating with Clinical and Science Honors, he completed a further four years of intensive internship, pediatric fellowship, and ophthalmic residency, where he earned the distinction of Chief Resident. On top of this extensive training, Doctor Fox has had over 20 years of experience working collaboratively and independently to provide quality vision care and eye surgery to his patients. Doctor Fox, a Redding Eye Surgeon, is the current Director of Ophthalmology at Shasta Regional Medical Center, supervising eye care and eye surgery, and is recognized as a leader by his peers who elected him Chief of Surgery.

A caring and supportive eye doctor, Dr. Fox is also committed to giving back to our community by providing services to patients through charitable and volunteer works, many of them vision related. He is a proud supporter of local school initiatives such as Sober Graduation, has sponsored the Mount Shasta Ski Team for the Blind, and regularly attends charities and benefits for local causes. Doctor Fox is a board member of the national organization Prevent Blindness which is dedicated to providing pediatric and adult eye screening with the goal of ending preventable blindness in America. He is also active internationally, functioning as an eye doctor and Primary Ophthalmic Medical Coordinator on a recent cataract eye surgery mission of mercy to provide surgical eye care in Oaxaca, Mexico with the charitable group ForwardEdge.
